Brushing your child’s teeth daily is essential for a strong smile. For a list of guidelines concerning brushing for kids, consider the following:
– Your child should eat healthy, balanced diet.
– Don’t share toothbrushes . Doing so can pass bacteria from you to your child and put them at an increased risk for tooth decay and gum disease.
– For an examination and cleaning, bring your child in to see the dentist sometime before they are one year old and at least six months after their first tooth comes in.
– When determining how much toothpaste needs to be used for infants, try to aim for a minute amount, approximately the size of a grain of rice. For small children, use a dab about the size of a pea.
